Misconceptions are masked in fear, shame, and lack of education

Misconceptions are masked in fear, shame, and lack of education about the disease. Hot button areas of misconceptions: that obesity "IS" the cause of diabetes, that diabetes is "NOT" a managable disease, that having diabetes requires a person to live on a "strict" diet, and that having diabetes casts a "dark" cloud on the family blood line. As I stated before, misconceptions are masked in fear, shame, and lack of education regarding the disease. This is my opinion and this has been my experience regarding the matter. Sincerely, the type II diabetic with a A1c of 5.7% down from 11.4% in six months.
