Nurses on the Case
School nurses can help kids with poorly controlled type 1 diabetes do better, according to a small pilot study. During the trial, a school nurse supervised blood glucose tests and administered insulin during the study participants’ lunch periods. Over 3 months, the kids getting extra help lowered their A1Cs by 1.6 percent (a significant improvement), while the A1Cs of those not receiving special nurse attention remained the same.

CEU Credits for School Nurses
Are there any diabetes seminars that school nurses can attend that is related to school-based health centers. I am a school based health nurse and need CEU credits and having a hard time finding seminars that can enrich my professional skills exspecially when it comes to a student with Type I diabetes. I would like to attend and share what I learned with my coworkers and school staff.
Is there any seminars in Michigan that help school nurses obtain CEU credits?
